St. Damian has joined the Vicariate V annual multi-parish Home Build Project.
Together with the assistance of Crossroads Missions, seven parishes of Vicariate V (St. Elizabeth Seton, St. Francis of Assisi, St. George, St. Julie Billiart, St. Michael, and St. Stephen Deacon & Martyr) work together to assist Habitat for Humanity through fundraising for building materials and by constructing the house framing in the church parking lot on the Build Day. The walls are transported by others to the home site where Habitat for Humanity will complete the house with other volunteers and skilled tradespeople. Upon completion, the home will be dedicated to a family in need.
Who can participate?
Anyone! You don’t need special skills or abilities to participate. We need children, teens (under 18 requires adult supervision), adults, and seniors for a variety of roles, included registration, lumber preparers, crew leaders, wall builders, hospitality, and safety/cleaners. Volunteers can purchase a T-shirt for just $10.
Donations are Needed
Each parish is raising funds to cover the cost of lumber and supplies. Any amount helps! Checks can be made out to St. Damian.
