Invest in Catholic Education – Fund a Child’s Future
The Invest in Kids Act’s Tax Credit Scholarships provide strong incentives for donors to support students from low-income households in Illinois and to guarantee a high-quality education in our Catholic schools while building future leaders in our community. Students may use these scholarships to attend a non-public school of their choice, including the 157 archdiocesan schools in Cook County and Lake County.
You Can Donate to a Tax Credit Scholarship and Reduce Your State Income Tax Debt! Begin the donation process now and plan to make your donation after Dec. 1 to an Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic school of your choice. Your donation reduces what you owe to the state at tax time or could potentially increase your state tax refund, all while helping fund a quality Catholic education for a child from a low-income home!
More than 10,000 students have received scholarships since the program began in 2017. However, another 10,000 students remain on the wait list, hoping that a scholarship will help fund their Catholic school education. Your gift through a tax credit scholarship provides a high-quality, faith-based education for generations of students to come.
For the 2020-21 school year, St. Damian School received over $100,000 in gifts. The resulting scholarships allowed 16 of our students to attend St. Damian School. However, there were still 27 students on our wait list.
